A civil services aspirant and a teenaged boy committed suicide in separate incidents the capital, police said on Thursday. In the first case, Pranay Belia ended life by consuming poisonous substance in Piplani area late on Wednesday night.
Police said Pranay Belia, 35, was preparing for civil services exam for many years. On Wednesday night, his elder brother Sanjay found him dead and informed the police. A case has been after preliminary investigation.
Police said a handwritten note and wrapper of poisonous tablets were recovered from the spot. In the note, Pranay had mentioned that he was frustrated with his life and had no option but to commit suicide, said police.
His brother told police that Pranay had been preparing for civil services for many years but could not succeed. "He didn't come out of his room Since Monday, saying he needed to focus on studies as he was supposed to appear in the exam. He had also left having meals," Sanjay told police. Police said that the short post-mortem report confirmed that he had died due to consumption of poison.
