A 17-year-old boy, arrested for allegedly creating a fake profile of Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on the social-networking site, Facebook, has been sent to remand home.
The boy posted cartoons and objectionable photographs featuring several senior politicians using the same profile.
Chouhan himself had filed a complaint in this regard, senior superintendent of police Adarsh Katiyar said.
“The minor boy, a resident of Indore, was sent to remand home after police produced him in juvenile court,” added Katiyar.
“During investigation certain details about the involvement of one or two of his friends has come to the fore and we are following them and their details,” said Katiyar.
“The police doesn't want to take any chance as the matter is related to the chief minister,” added Katiyar.
“Derogatory cartoons and photographs of politicians are featured frequently on social networking sites but in this case the boy created a fake profile of the chief minister and posted content, which could have flared-up communal violence.
