The Election Commission (EC) has removed two District Collectors and a range Inspector General (IG) following laxity on their part in dealing with poll-related works.
The transfer orders were issued late on Tuesday night after the Election Commissioner, Navin Chawla held a top level meeting with the Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary Rakesh Sahni, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Vinod Choudhry and Director General of Police (DGP) S K Rout, official sources said on Wednesday.
The EC removed the Rewa IG A K Soni, who was replaced with A K Shrivastava while in place of Hoshangabad Collector, G P Tiwari and Anooppur Collector, Subhash Jain, Nishant Varvade and Kavindra Kiyavat were posted as new district collectors respectively, the sources said.
The EC found their work not satisfactory following which it has directed the State Government to remove them, they said.
Soni is transferred as IG Planning at Police Head Quarter (PHQ) while Tiwari and Jain were posted as Secretary and Additional Secretary in the State Mantralaya.
