In order to lodge an effective protest against principal secretary, health, Praveer Krishn in the wake of his suspension spree the doctors on Sunday formed a new association “Sangharsh Samiti”.

The new body has been formed as a parallel association to Madhya Pradesh Medical Officers Association (MPMOA).

The decision to form a new body will further widen the rift among doctors. The doctors who formed the new body are of the view that MPMOA is not working to protect their interest.

Coordinator of Sangharsh Samiti, Dr Padmakar Tripathi said a press conference would be called on July 5 by the newly established association.
He said all the doctors would also go on mass leave on July 10 to protest against the suspension of doctors.

The association members would also submit a memorandum to chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, health minister Narottam Mishra and governor Ram Naresh Yadav.

Dr Tripathi said the attitude of the department’s administrative officers towards the doctors left much to be desired. He said government doctors were providing their services to patients, despite facing many adverse circumstances.

The state was already facing shortage of doctors due to which a single doctor has to perform functions of three doctors, Tripathi added.
