An elderly man slipped from Delhi-bound Shatabdi Express while boarding the train at Bhopal railway station and died on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Deendayal Mathur, 74, a resident of Noida in Uttar Pradesh. According to the Government Railway Police officials, Mathur, along with his family members, had come to Bhopal a couple of days ago to attend a marriage. He was returning home.

He, along with his family members, was waiting for the train at platform number 2. Just as Shatabdi Express arrived at the railway station around 5.45 pm, Mathur was confused about the coach he was supposed to travel in, so he began to move from one place to another. Meanwhile, the train started and Mathur, who tried to enter a coach, fell from it and came under the wheels.
