Some eunuchs allegedly castrated a 24-year-old man in Bhopal and threw him on the road, police said on Wednesday.
The victim, identified as Abrar Khan, in his statement to the police, said eunuchs from the Mangalwara neighbourhood of the city abducted him on February 4, and confined him in a room for five days before injecting him anesthesia and castrating him.
The eunuchs wanted to “convert” him by castrating him, Khan said in his statement.
Anshuman Singh, superintendent of police, said police are investigating the matter and have registered a case under Sections 323, 324, 342, 506 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. No arrest has been made so far and police are waiting for the medical report, he said.
Police said, Khan, 24, a resident of Kenchi Chhola, who works in an event management company, was taken to Mangalwara by Sonam, a eunuch known to him.
Khan said he informed the SP Anshuman Singh after the eunuchs left him on a road in the neighbouhood and police took him to Hamidia hospital.
Haji Surraiya Naik, head of the eunuch community at Mangalwara denied the allegation, saying eunuch do not indulge in criminal activities.
“Khan is a part of gang of fake eunuchs and he was trying to enter in our group,” said Naik.
“A few days back he entered our neighbourhood and was beaten up. He is leveling fake charges on us to defame the community.”
This is the third incident in a year in the state. In May 7, 2015, eunuchs had castrated a 27-year-old man for collecting money by posing as a eunuch. In another case in December, 2015, a driver was allegedly castrated for the same reason.
