Abu Faisal alias “Doctor”, the self-styled Madhya Pradesh chief of banned Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), is not at all restless or worried over the alleged encounter of eight of his cadres.

After Monday’s dramatic jailbreak, Faizal was interrogated by several agencies to gather information about the banned students’ outfit, and its modus operandi in Madhya Pradesh.

But, Faisal is not showing any signs of panic or expressing his anger on the whole incident, sources told Hindustan Times. “He is sticking to his daily routine without any changes,” the sources said.

When asked to react on the alleged encounter in which all the eight SIMI operatives were killed, he answered in just few sentences.

“Nobody was the mastermind of the whole incident but the Almighty. Nobody planned the jailbreak or the encounter but it was the Almighty,” Faizal told the official.

Sources said there had been no restriction on Faizal’s and 11 other SIMI operatives’ mobility within the jail even after the jailbreak. Faizal and 11 other SIMI undertrials are lodged in Block A of Bhopal’s Central Jail.

The Block B, where the eight slain undertrials were lodged, still houses nine more SIMI activists.

“The nine SIMI operatives who are in the B block are put under restrictions and are not allowed to move freely,” the sources said.

Faisal and the other 11 SIMI men in A block are still being provided with the ‘special food’ and other eatables. He was even allowed to speak to the other 11, freely for about 15-20 minutes,” said the source, adding a senior official in the jail is still providing them leverages.

“That senior jail official is in good terms with all the SIMI men, including Faisal. While interacting with Faisal he told him that ‘Bhaijaan apne humari neend haraam kardi’ ”, said the source.

“He is the main person who provides all the special services to the SIMI men and even assured them that their services would resume after a few days.”
