More than a dozen girl students of a middle school in Khandabad village of Sehore district have lodged a complaint against a teacher for sexually harassing them in classes.
According to information, more than a dozen girls of the middle school at village
Khandabad in Sehore district, 70 kms from Bhopal, had pleaded with their parents not to force them to go to school.
When asked about the reason for their reluctance, they told their parents "Sir bahut gande hain, humein school nahin jana" (Sir is very bad. We don't want to go to school).
Alerted by their answer, the parents inquired from them about conduct of the teacher, and came to know that the teacher used to touch their body in the class itself.
After being apprised on the conduct of the teacher, parents lodged a complaint with the block education officer GP Meena and other local officials of the school education department, who transferred the teacher to a school in Budni but didn't hand over the matter to police for investigation.
Sehore collector Sudam Khade has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
District education officer Anil Vaidya said he would go to the school concerned in the next two-three days to find out the facts of the case. Who-so-ever is found guilty in the matter would be punished, he added.
