‘Govt trying for Anderson extradition’

bhopal Updated: Oct 09, 2010 23:07 IST

Government is trying for extradition of former Union Carbide chief Warren Anderson and all possible steps will be taken in this regard, Law Minister Veerappa Moily said in Bhopal on Saturday.

“We have moved on the issue of extradition of Anderson by taking the opinion of Attorney General,” Moily told reporters at the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee office.

When asked about the government’s earlier attempts to move on the issue, Moily said that “there is difference between then and now and all efforts would be made within the law for extradition of Anderson” who left the country after the Bhopal gas tragedy.
