The woman constable of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), who had tried to commit suicide by shooting herself with her service revolver on Tuesday, accused deputy commandant of CISF, Bhopal unit, Vijay Kumar of 'insulting' her.
In her statement to Nayab Tehsildar on Thursday, Ritu Kumari said she reached late by about 30 minutes for duty on August 4. Next day (on June 5), the deputy commandant summoned her and made her stand outside his cabin for about two hours.
Later, he called her inside his cabin and insulted her, she said in her statement. She also said the behaviour of the deputy commandant was not good with women constables.
After leaving the cabin of deputy commandant, she had called up two friends — Surinder Singh, who works with Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sidhanth Awasthi, who is an advocate in Unnaw in UP, and shared the story with them.
She had also told them that she would commit suicide. They, however, tried to persuade her not to take any such step.
SP (North) Arvind Saxena said both her friends had been called and their statements would also be recorded. "Other women constables of CISF will also be quizzed about the incident," he said.
Saxena further said Vijay Kumar would also be quizzed to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the incident. "We will record the statements of all the people concerned and will collect evidence about the incident before taking further action," he said.
