Madhya Pradesh Police on Sunday arrested a 26-year-old man for allegedly strangling his 4-year-old step-daughter and throwing her body in a nearby nullah at Bag Sewaniya locality of Bhopal. He committed the crime with the help of his two friends who were also arrested, said police.
According to the Bag Sewaniya police, the 26-year-old main accused and step-father of the deceased girl, Hyder Ali, a resident of Binaganj nerar Guna district had married Shaziya, a resident of Bhopal and the mother of the deceased about seven months ago.
The deceased girl was the daughter of Shaziya and her first husband who passed away four years ago. She married the accused Hyder after the demise of her husband and was living with her daughter and him.
Accused Hyder was not happy with the fact that the victim was not his biological daughter and was living with them. He had regular arguments and fights with Shaziya over the victim living with them. He also used to get enraged by thinking that Shaziya may not conceive his child just because of the 4-year-old daughter that she had with her first husband, added the police.
The accused Hyder had come to Bhopal four days back to his in-laws along with his wife and the victim. He had allegedly planned to kill his 4-year-old daughter for which he hired two-of his friends on contract killing (supari).
“On Friday night, the accused Hyder, was sleeping with his wife and his daughter at his in-laws house. On Saturday morning at around 6 am, he along with his two friends took the victim to an under-construction neighbouring house and strangled her to death. After ensuring she had died, the three accused put her body in a sack and threw it into a nearby nullah”, said Lalit Singh Dagur, town inspector, Bag Sewaniya.
“The other two accused were arrested last night from Binaganj in Guna district. One is named Jitendra Mali while the other is a 15-year-old minor. On Saturday when the deceased’s mother couldn’t find her in the house, she lodged a complaint of her disappearance in the police station along with her husband”, said Dagur.
After registering the case of kidnapping, the police started investigating the case and interrogated the suspects in which they also spoke to Hyder.
“During investigations when the police found Hyder giving vague answers, they interrogated him intensely after which he narrated the whole incident and confessed to the crime. The police after arresting all the three accused, have registered a case against them under relevant sections of IPC. The police have recovered the body of the victim after the accused inform them about its location”, Dagur.
The police have registered a case against all the three accused under relevant sections of IPC and will soon present them before the court.
