In a show of strength, Congress leaders, including senior leader Kamal Nath and Youth Congress activists, courted arrest on the spot of a public meeting in Jabalpur on Friday, to protest against the state government over the multi-layered Vyapam scam.

Kamal Nath called on party activists to obtain a proper picture of the scam and lashed out at chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for misleading the public on development issue by portraying wrong picture of development works.

Hinting towards media reports quoting the CM's claim of attracting industrial investments to the tune of crores in the state, Nath said that no investment had been seen yet and asked how many new industrial units and employment opportunities had come up.

He asked the youths to work to protect their rights as their future in the state was uncertain due to the lack of development and job opportunities.

He also cited examples of government schools and hospitals facing a dearth of staff to highlight the state of affairs in the state.

PCC chief Arun Yadav, elected representatives of the party and other leaders also attended the meeting.
