The much-awaited expansion of Madhya Pradesh cabinet would take place on Wednesday, in which former minister Vijay Shah, who had earlier quit over his alleged sexist remarks, will be reinducted, official sources said in Bhopal on Tuesday.
The chief minister met governor Ram Naresh Yadav on Wednesday in this regard after which it was decided that the swearing-in ceremony would take place around 7pm on Wednesday, they said.
According to BJP sources, Chouhan had said that since he would be busy with the Independence Day function on Thursday, the cabinet expansion would take place on Wednesday.
Vijay Shah had resigned from the Cabinet as tribal welfare minister following a controversy over his alleged sexist remark against Chouhan's wife a few months back. However, following a probe the party had found him "innocent".
"Ever since he was lobbying hard for his re-induction into the Cabinet," sources said.
Besides Shah, names of senior party MLA Gyan Singh, former minister Kamal Patel and Kedar Shukla are also doing rounds in the political circles for induction into the Cabinet.
The party sources also said that the minister of state for SC/ST Welfare Harishankar Khatik would be elevated to the Cabinet rank in the reshuffle.
