The bodies of missing Madhya Pradesh Congress leader Kailash Agarwal and his driver Pappu were found from a farmhouse in Dewas district, police said on Monday.
Agarwal, a leader from Dhar district, and his driver had been missing since Friday. His burnt Scorpio vehicle was found on the Bhopal-Dewas highway, and the bodies about 20 km away, police said.
Police have arrested a man called Narain Singh for the twin murders. Narain Singh has confessed to have murdered the former municipal vice president and his driver.
A hunt is on for his accomplices.
Dhar Superintendent of Police Rakesh Gupta said: “Agarwal was killed due to enmity with Narain Singh. Agarwal has been a witness against Narain Singh in a one-year-old assault case.”
