A man was found sacrificed in an ancient temple of a female deity in Pipaldehi of tribal-dominated Mandla district, about 25 km from Jabalpur. The head of the man had been severed and the blood drops were found inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, confirming human sacrifice, police said.

The man has been identified as Indramani Jhariya, 32, a resident of village Sarai under Bargi police station of Jabalpur. The temple is situated inside forest area and the body was found on Saturday afternoon with no one around it.
