The 72-year-old is in Jodhpur jail for sexually harassing a 16-year-old on August 15.
One Rina Wadhwani alleged that Sai got her married in 2004 to Ishwar Wadhwani who was already married and when she went to complain during a pravachan, Sai molested her. The court will hear the case on Monday.
Though Jodhpur police said they had got more complaints against Asaram, they did not disclose details. "We are verifying these complaints," a senior police official told HT.
In Bhopal, Asaram's supporters took on the media by distributing pamphlets titled 'Kya hai sacchai'. Published by an unknown Sanskriti Rakshak Sangh of Delhi, the pamphlet named 26 channels and newspapers as accepting "more than $33.62 crore (R22,27,829,3000) every year" from missionaries.
Indore: After taking the 'politically motivated' line to defend Asaram initially, BJP leaders are now doing an about turn. On Friday, Madhya Pradesh urban development minister Babulal Gaur said, "He is only a pravachan karta (one who delivers religious discourses)".
