Agriculture director DN Sharma was removed from his post after serious allegations of asking for bribe from the investors. The state government took the action on late Wednesday evening.
A delegation interested in setting up industry in food processing sector had complained that Sharma was creating hurdles and was demanding bribe for facilitation of setting up of the factory.
Principal secretary Rajesh Rajora confirmed that Sharma has been removed. He has been shifted as in-charge of MP state agriculture training institute while additional director of this institute Vijay Pandit has been given charge of director.
The move of the government is seen as important in the light of upcoming Global Investors Summit, which is to be held next month. The incident had occurred three days ago when investors were allegedly ill-treated by agriculture director.
Irritated investors had met the principal secretory agriculture and principal secretary to the Chief Minister, and had complained about the incident. Subsequently, the action was taken.
