BJP MLAs did not resist from putting their own party ministers in the dock during question hour in the assembly on Tuesday.
BJP MLA from Jabalpur Anchal Sonkar told commercial taxes minister Jayant Malaiya that he believes and reads out everything that the bureaucracy tells him while in reality it was far from the truth. Sonkar had raised a question pertaining to functioning of a shop bar in Jabalpur without a parking. Sonkar also said that another shop bar in Jabalpur functioned from a multi-level building which was against the norms.
Replying to the question, commercial taxes minister Jayant Malaiya said no shop bar in Jabalpur was functioning in violation of rules. He said a shop bar should be further than 50 metres from a retail shop and all shops in Jabalpur adhered to the norms. Anchal Sonkar said that this was not true and a shop bar in fact existing on multi levels which was in violation of rules. At this the minister said that he would have the matter examined and take appropriate action after which Anchal Sonkar said that the minister is saying whatever the bureaucrats have told him.
In another question, BJP MLA Vishnu Khatri who had raised a question on changing of faulty transformers in Berasia assembly constituency of Bhopal district said that he does not agree with what energy minister Rajendra Shukla had to say on the matter.
When the MLA said that he did not agree with the minister’s reply, he was hailed by Congress MLAs in the House who said that he should be congratulated for speaking the truth. Khatri had sought to know the number of faulty transformers that had been changed in Berasia. The minister in his reply said that 195 transformers had developed fault in Berasia of which 132 had been changed. The remaining 63 transformers were not being changed because the consumers had not paid their dues to the MP power distribution company.
