A wedding in Ramnagar locality of Bhind district in Madhya Pradesh, 400 kilometres from Bhopal, took a 'filmy' turn when the bride eloped with her paramour just before the baraat, coming from Agra distict of UP, could reach her home for marriage.
For sometime after the arrival of baraat, usual exchange of pleasantries continued, as the bride had apparently gone to a parlour on the pretext of getting ready for the occasion. However, as the wait for the bride prolonged, suspicious family members and relatives went out to search for her.
It was revealed then that the girl had eloped with her paramour. As the news broke, the baraatis started quarreling with the family and acquaintances of the bride.
Even though the girl's father tried to broker peace by offering to marry his younger daughter with the groom Jitendra Prajapati but the latter declined the offer.
After a while, the baraat returned to Jarar village under Bah tehsil of Agra, the native village of the groom. The bride's brother Srikant Prajapati lodged a complaint at city Kotwali about his 'missing' sister.
