Peeved over denial of ticket, supporters of Congress leader Rakesh Saini on Tuesday hurled eggs, slippers and tomatoes on MP Congress chief Arun Yadav's vehicle at Civic Centre locality.
When contacted, Saini said, "I worked hard for the party in the assembly and parliamentary polls in various areas, including Shobhapur and Gokalpur."
Saini was expecting ticket for the post of corporator but he was denied it. He has held various posts at party level. He further said, "I didn't demand ticket in previous local body poll but this time I had hopes of winning and so demanded the ticket but the same was denied. I'm ready to face any action by the party."
A group of Congressmen, upset over denial of ticket to Saini, also burnt posters of Yadav and Congress leader VK Tankha in Garha locality.
Later, talking to the media, Yadav said it was not possible to satisfy every person in the party while allocating tickets.
Talking about Tuesday's incident, he said an inquiry would be conducted and appropriate action would be taken.
