Congress district committee president Darshan Singh on Monday collapsed after a massive heart attack during a Jan Akrosh rally in Gwalior and died later in a private hospital.
Singh, 54, had led the protest march a little more than one kilometer when he suffered the cardiac arrest. He was rushed to Global Hospital where he breathed his last at 2.20 pm.
Congress leader and vice president of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Ashok Singh said doctors did their best but it was of no avail. “He (Darshan) was sweating abnormally… We could see that he was not keeping well.”
