The MP government has directed banks to deposit the discontinued Rs 500 and Rs1000 banknotes in the accounts of those who have been hospitalised on a priority basis, if they bring their hospital admit certificate with them.

Banks have been told to arrange a separate queue for the same.

The directives have been issued in view of the problems being faced by the people in treatment at private hospitals and nursing homes.

Banks have instructed to transfer funds in the hospital’s account through RTGS, NEFT, bankers’ cheques or bank draft. The banks will also provide a receipt for the transferred amount so that the patient may face no hurdle in treatment.

Account holders will be able to make payment to the hospital through POS machine.

Meanwhile chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan tweeted that the state has directed the MP Nursing Home Association to ensure patients do not face problems on account of demonetisation.
