The Madhya Pradesh high court on Thursday withdrew an order shortly after issuing notices to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and some other people on a petition filed by the Democratic Lawyers’ Forum. The court will hear the petition again on August 14.
The forum filed the PIL demanding an inquiry into some officials of central public sector undertakings meeting the RSS chief during his visit to Jabalpur in January 2015 after announcement of the civic body elections.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is one of the eleven respondents in the PIL. The reason behind making Bhagwat a respondent was that the ruling BJP is associated with the RSS, the petition said.
Additional advocate general KS Wadhwa said the HC withdrew its order whereby notices were issued after sometime when he requested the court to rehear the PIL.
The Democratic Lawyers’ Forum is a body of group of advocates who raises various issues in public interest.
