Madhya Pradesh home minister Uma Shankar Gupta on Friday visited the family of slain RTI activist, Shehla Masood.
Gupta told the family members that chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had already favoured a CBI probe and written a letter in this regard to the concerned union ministry, official sources said.
State Government had also sent a reminder to the Centre on the issue, he said.
The home minister assured the family that probe would be impartial. He was accompanied by Inspector General Vijay Yadav and Senior Superintendent of Police Yogesh Choudhry.
Shehla was found shot dead on August 16 in her car in front of her house in Bhopal.
