Dr Ruma Bhattacharya — who was allegedly manhandled by an IAS officer Davindra Pal Ahuja — will register complaint with Madhya Pradesh State Women Commission against Ahuja. She will be visiting women commission on Friday to submit her application.
"To ensure proper investigation in the case by the police I have decided to submit an application to state's women commission regarding the incident. I will be registering my complaint with the commission as soon as possible," she said.
Bhattacharya's car was hit by a vehicle allegedly driven by Ahuja on Tuesday night at New Market. She was also allegedly manhandled by the officer before he was forced to flee as a crowd gathered on the site of the incident. Bhattacharya, a psychiatrist, is also a member of crime against women cell of MP police.
Ahuja, managing director of MP Trade and Investment Facilitation Corporation (TRIFAC) has been booked under Section 323 and 279 of IPC. The doctor had to wait for 24 hours to lodge FIR against the officer.
She waited at the police station for hours on Wednesday evening as the FIR registered by TT Nagar police included charges only for rash driving. No charges for physical assault were mentioned in the FIR. After much insistence of Bhattacharya charges for physical assault were mentioned in FIR.
