OP Shukla, former officer on special duty (OSD) to ex-higher education minister Laxmikant Sharma was arrested afresh in Milk Federation recruitment scam on Saturday. He was produced in the court and sent on Special Task Force (STF) custody till October 8.
OP Shukla, along with former controller of exams of Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board Pankaj Trivedi, was in STF remand till Saturday in connection with police recruitment scam-2013. Both were produced in the court. While Trivedi was sent to jail on judicial remand, Shukla was sent to STF remand in another case.
The name of Shukla surfaced during the interrogation of MPPEB officials, including Pankaj Trivedi. During the course of interrogation, Pankaj Trivedi had told STF officials that Shukla had recommended two candidates in Milk Federation recruitment exam.
The two candidates, who were recommended by Shukla, are Ramhetu Upadhyay, a resident of Bhind district, and Narendra Patel, a resident of Rewa district. According to STF sources, both Upadhyay and Patel had approached Shukla through a middleman Vijay Tripathi, who has been recently arrested and is in jail. Shukla had taken Rs 2.5 lakh from each to help them pass written exam of milk federation recruitment conducted by MPPEB.
Shukla is also accused in several cases related to MPPEB scam. He has been arrested in scams related to contract teachers' recruitment exam for grade-II and III and police constable recruitment. He helped two candidates Satish Gurjar and Bhanu Gurjar, residents of Gwalior, clear written exam of MP police constable recruitment-2013. He had taken Rs 3 lakh from each candidate.
