A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by staff of 108 ambulance service on Monday night in Badoni town in Datia district.

According to Badoni police officials, the three accused, who have been identified as Vishambar Dhakad, Hitendra Pratap Jatav and Vikram Ahirwar, worked as medical staff in a 108-ambulance. The main accused, Vishambar Dhakad, was the driver of ambulance while other two were medical attendants.

According to the police, the victim knew the accused Vishambar and was in a relationship with him for the past 3 months.

The accused used to drive the ambulance from Badoni to the village that the victim was a resident of, and back. The victim reportedly met the accused in the ambulance and accompanied the men to Badoni frequently.

On Monday, she went to Badoni with the three accused and stayed at Vishambar’s place during the night where he allegedly raped her, added the police officials.

“It is not a case of gang-rape as she was allegedly raped by Vishambar at his place. Though the other two accused came with Vishambar and the victim in the ambulance but did not rape her. On Monday, the night of incidence, they left for their home after reaching Badoni. But because they were present along with the main accused, based on the information given by the victim on Wednesday, police have registered a case against all of them under section 376, 323, 363 and 34. Investigations are on in the case,” said, Surendra Singh Parmar, SDOP, Badoni.
