A day after a suspected terrorist escaped from a running train in MP on Thursday, the police are still clueless about him.

On Thursday midnight, a suspected terrorist, Syed Ahmad escaped by jumping off Rapti Sagar Express train on the outskirts of Hoshangabad station sounding an alert in the police department.

According to Hoshangabad police officials, the terrorist was being taken to Lucknow from Vellore by Vellore police officials who arrested him in Tamil Nadu. The alleged terrorist along with seven Vellore police officials was travelling in Rapti Sagar Express. The train after leaving the Itarsi station was at Pawarkheda on the outskirts of Hoshangabad station at around 12 am midnight. It was slowly catching up speed when suddenly the terrorist escaped from the custody of policemen and jumped off the train.

The terrorist ran away by taking advantage of the dark and ascending speed of the train. The Vellore policemen immediately informed the government railway police(GRP), which then informed the local police and anti-terrorist squad (ATS), added the police.

“Four teams of policemen under the supervision of superintendent of police are constantly searching the escaped terrorist in the area. The police are on their toes and are constantly keeping a vigil in the whole area to get any clue on him”, said assistant superintendent of police (ASP), Hoshangabad, Shashank.
