The government railway police (GRP) launched an updated version of its mobile application — GRP Helpline App — on Friday to enable passengers to lodge their complaints across the country.
MS Gupta, director general (DG) of state GRP said, “Earlier, only train passengers could lodge complaints but now even people at railway stations could do so.”
Gupta further said complaints can now be received across the country and would be forwarded to the concerned state’s GRP.
“It has now become a pan-India app. I had a conversation with GRP chiefs of all states and they are ready to take action,” the director general added. The App was launched by GRP Madhya Pradesh on January 17 this year.
It allows passengers to register complaints directly with the GRP control room without breaking off their journey.
The complaints can be lodged by sending a text or uploading pictures, or audio or video files.
