MP sets up Child Rights Protection Commission

Madhya Pradesh Government has decided to set up a commission to ensure protection of child rights in the state.

Madhya Pradesh Government has decided to set up a commission to ensure protection of child rights in the state.

The decision to set up State Child Rights Protection Commission was taken by the Cabinet which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Bhopal on Tuesday evening, an official release said on Wednesday.

The proposed body would help generate an atmosphere conducive to the all-round development of children besides safeguarding their interests, it said.

It shall have six members, including at least two women, besides the Chairperson and they would have a tenure of three years, the release said.

The Cabinet also sanctioned the creation of other posts, provision for office building and vehicles for the proposed commission.
