MP: SIMI activist Abu Faisal held guilty of cop’s murder, sentence today

A sessions court in Bhopal on Friday held dreaded SIMI terrorist Abu Faisal guilty of murder, criminal conspiracy, unlawful activities and illegal possession of arms in a case related to broad day-light murder of a Special Armed Force (SAF) constable Ghisiram Yadav at Khandwa town in 2009 while reserving its sentence for the next day.

His accomplice Mehtab, who was on bail, has also been held guilty under Arms Act and his bail cancelled. Three more accomplices in the crime are still absconding.

The court of P S Bhadoriya, while holding Abul Faisal guilty under section 302 of the IPC section 16, 18 and 20 of Unlawful Activities Act and section 25 and 28 of the Arms Act on Friday, reserved its sentence for Saturday.

Mehtab, a co-accused in the case, who was on bail, was also held guilty under Arms Act and taken into custody after he was held guilty on Friday. He, too, will be sentenced on Saturday. Three more accused in the case are still absconding.
