In two separate incidents two people were drowned while one is feared dead while taking bath, police sources said in Bhopal on Sunday.
According to police sources, two youngsters who went to Noronha Sankal village got drowned. The deceased were identified as Mohammed Ikram (20) and Soheb Mohammed (20), residents of Hanumanganj area in Bhopal.
Town inspector of Bilkhiria police station, Sandhya Mishra said that three youngsters from Hanumaganj locality in Bhopal went to a dam in Noronha Sankal village for picnic. They were taking bath, when all three ventured into deep water, she said.
"One of them identified as Azhar has been saved by villagers while two died," Mishra said. She further said that a case had been registered and the family members of the deceased have been informed. The bodies of the deceased were recovered by villagers.
In a separate incident a 29-year-old man who went for picnic with his four friends got drowned in a nullah near Delawadi forest in Sehore district.
According sources in Rehti police station, Prameed Khare, a resident of Ashoka Garden in Bhopal, was accompanied by four friends and was taking bath in the nullah. Police sources said that Khare jumped into the nullah when he saw his friend Parth Shrivastava drowning.
However, he could not come out of water. The police could not recover his body at the time of writing.
