MPSHA trounced Air India

In a surprising pool match, Air India was trounced by Madhya Pradesh State Hockey Academy (MPSHA) by 4-3 on Saturday in the Obaidullah Khan Heritage Hockey Cup being played at Aishbagh Stadium.

In a surprising pool match, Air India was trounced by Madhya Pradesh State Hockey Academy (MPSHA) by 4-3 on Saturday in the Obaidullah Khan Heritage Hockey Cup being played at Aishbagh Stadium.

Vikas Chaudhary of MPSHA became hero for the team by scoring three goals including the victory goal.

MPSHA team showed good game against the experienced Air India team.

MPSHA took the lead in the seventh minute of the match when Mohammad Alishan scored field goal. Air India’s player AB Cheeyana leveled score in the 10th minute.

After three minutes, MPSHA was awarded a penalty corner which was successfully stroke off by Vikas Chaudhary. He scored another goal in the 28th minute to mount pressure on opponents. However, in the second half, Gagandeep Singh of AI helped his team in bouncing back by grounding off two penalty corners.

In the 59th minute of the match, Vikas Chaudhary scored the field goal and ensured the victory of MPSHA.

With this win, the chances of MPSHA to qualify to the semi-finals have increased. In the next pool match, Air India will lock horns with CAG. Now to qualify to semifinals, Air India has to win the match against CAG.

In another Pool match played on Saturday evening, Railways defeated Punjab and Sindh Bank (PSB) by 2-1. For Railways Affan Yousuf and Karan Pal Singh scored a goal each while for PSB, Ramandeep Singh scored a goal.
