Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) leader Medha Patkar and her 400 supporters were booked by Bhopal police for rioting and causing public nuisance near chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's house on Thursday. The case was registered late on Thursday night, Shyamla Hills police said on Friday.
Medha and her supporters had a minor scuffle with the police when they toppled the barricades put up by the police, before sitting on dharna near the CM House. They were demanding proper rehabilitation of people affected by Sardar Sarovar dam and other projects in Narmada valley.

According to the police, Medha Patkar, Dr Sunilam, Akshay and 400 other people have been booked under section 147, 148, 188 and 341 of IPC. However, none of them have been arrested so far, the police said.
When contacted, Medha Patkar who was in Dhar district, told HT that she was not aware of the FIR. "The police did not hint about registering any case during the demonstration. Rather they put up barricades on the road when we decided to sit on dharna," she said.
