Two of the women who were arrested for running a sex racket in Koh-e-Fiza on late Friday night, had come from other states. During interrogation it was revealed that one of them belonged to Darjeeling while the other hailed from Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh).
Two other women belonged to Bhopal. Additional superintendent of police (ASP) Rajesh Mishra said that the accused had rented a house in Bhopal and were using it for running the racket.
The police had been getting tip-offs from informers about prostitution in the locality. Finally, a raid was conducted and ten persons including four women were caught. The accused were arrested and booked under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act. All the accused were sent to jail today. Two persons acted as pimps for the women.
Under the pretext of running an NGO, the house was taken on rent. Besides, one of the main accused ran an event management company and had also organised events. The police are probing the links of the accused with models in Mumbai, who could be involved in flesh-trade.
