Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi spoke with girl students while waiting at a railway crossing in Chhatarpur district on Saturday afternoon. Gandhi questioned them about their education and the cycles they were riding. Local sources said the girls were on cycles given to them by the state government.
The Congress vice president, who in on tour of Bundelkhand on Uttar Pradesh side, passed through MP’s Chhatarpur and Tikamgarh districts while travelling from UP’s Mahoba district to Jhansi district.
Gandhi passed through Harpalpur town of Chhatarpur district while on way towards Mauranipur and Jhansi in Jhansi district after attending Khat Sabha at Panwari in Mahoba district of UP.
Gandhi had reached Mahoba on Friday evening. On Saturday afternoon he attended a Khat Sabha at Panwari where he attacked BJP in his address. He said that during his tour, he had seen many cows roaming on the roads. He questioned BJP leaders as to where are they when such cows are dying.
Gandhi alleged that money of the Bundelkhand package had gone into the pockets of Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). He also alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had waived off loans of big businessmen but not done the same with farmers.
At Mahoba, Madhya Pradesh Betel (Paan) Union vice president Lala Mahendra Chourasia along with betel nut farmers submitted a memorandum to Gandhi in connection with their problems.
