With the knock of next monsoon on Indore's door, Bollywood stars would grace the city for a programme on Malwa history. Actor Amitabh Bachchan will anchor the sound and light programme that starts from August 26, 2013.
Attempts will also be made to engage the melody queen Lata Mangeshkar to sing title song. Lata Mangeshkar was born in Indore.
The programme will be staged at Rajwada, the residential palace of Holkars, Indore's erstwhile princely rulers.
A high-level meeting, presided over by divisional commissioner Prabhat Parashar, took this decision on Wednesday. Indore Development Authority has sanctioned Rs 2 crore for the project.
The sound and light programme will be presented for 35 to 45 minutes. The event will be held under aegis of Madhya Pradesh Tourism and Development Corporation.
In May this year, Bhargav had visited Rajwada along with Parashar and then Indore district collector Raghavendra Singh for discussions.
Integrated Digital Solution Pvt Ltd has prepared sound and light programmes for Khajuraho, Orchha, Gwalior, Red Fort, Agra fort, Jhansi, and Lucknow Residency.
A technical team from New Delhi will visit Rajwada on October 2, 2012. The script writing will be over by October 20, 2012 after which it will be sent to Integrated Digital Solution Pvt Ltd chief executive officer Mukesh Bhargav for appraisal, an official release issued here stated.
