State govt needs a dose of good sense: social activist
Social activist Anna Hazare sought Lord Mahakal’s blessings that corrupt people in the country be endowed with good sense.
Social activist Anna Hazare sought Lord Mahakal’s blessings that corrupt people in the country be endowed with good sense.
After performing pooja at Mahakaleshwar shrine on Wednesday, Anna addressed the gathering.
He said there was hardly any democracy left in the country because of rampant corruption and he has prayed before Lord Shiva to change the thinking of the corrupt in the country.
“The state governments too needs a dose of good sense,” said the social activist as part of his ‘Jantantra Yatra’ along with the former Army chief general VK Singh and ex-MLA Sunilam.
“On the course of our campaign, we experienced that there was no roads in the state and God must give sense to the state government to construct roads,” the Gandhian said.
To a question on Lokpal Bill, Hazare said the Central government cheated people of the country. “Despite giving in writing, they have not brought the bill,” the anti-crusader said.
Taking a dig at P Chidambaram, the social activist claimed that the then home minister had a plan to smash August 16, 2012 agitation and arrest him (Hazare) like he had done with Baba Ramdev. As soon as the Lokpal Bill comes, Chidambaram will land in jail, the anti-crusader said, adding: “I have no fear of death and before the Lokpal Bill, no one will able to harm me.”
He said through the Jantantra Yatra, he would try to mobilise people in Madhya Pradesh.
Former army chief general VK Singh said under the present government regime, corruption is rampant which can be understood by the fact that over Rs 70 lakh crore were deposited in the foreign banks. “Our leaders have outdone the East India Company when it comes to robbing the innocent people,” Singh said.
