The union minister of state for labour and employment K Suresh on his visit to Bhopal on Tuesday said the Madhya Pradesh government was not doing work in favour of labourers and neglecting labour laws.

Addressing the media, Suresh said, “The MP government realised Rs 869 crore cess from construction workers, but spent only Rs 229 crore.

The MP government is ignoring the petty condition of labourers in the state. There are no stringent laws in favour of labourers.”

Suresh also announced that the first Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) medical college and hospital would be started in Indore soon.

He also announced that career counselling centres would be established in MP for the upliftment of youth and labourers’ family.
