Holding former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Arjun Singh and some top officials responsible for giving safe passage to Warren Anderson in the aftermath of gas tragedy, BJP district leaders today demanded capital punishment for them.

"They deserve to be hanged as they have betrayed the people by allowing Anderson to leave Bhopal after the 1984 tragedy which killed over 15,000 people," the BJP leaders demanded at a public rally here.

The demand for capital punishment to Singh and others was made at a rally and demonstration organised by BJP workers, who also let off black balloons on the occasion.

BJP leaders including District BJP President Alok Sharma, MLA Vishwas Sarang, Rameshwar Sharma and Bhopal Development Authority (BDA) Chairman Surendranath Singh said that attempts were being made by the Congress to save Warren Anderson and demanded that all those responsible for allowing the UCC Chief to leave the country should be hanged.

Tomorrow also, the BJP plans to hold number of protests to highlight the problems of the Bhopal Gas victims.
