The much-awaited National Panorama Film Festival would kick-start at the multi-arts complex Bharat Bhawan in Bhopal on Monday.
The three-day festival, organised by the International Film Festival of India and MP culture department, will see several critically acclaimed directors interacting with budding filmmakers of the state.
Hindi feature film Jal, directed by Girish Malik, would be screened on the first day of the multi-lingual film festival, deputy director of Directorate of Film Festivals Rizwan Ahmad said. “Eight feature films and two non-feature films would be screened during the festival starting…Interactive sessions with the director of the movie would follow the screenings,” he said.
Directors of ‘Kanyka Talkies’ (RK Manoj), ‘Jal’ (Girish Malik), ‘Bodhan’ (Ayanushu Banerji), ‘The Coffin Maker’ (Bina Bakshi) and ‘Elizabeth Ekadashi’ (Paresh Mukashi) would attend the inaugural function.
The hurriedly convened film festival clashes with some important cultural events in the city, including a classical programme by legendry singer Pandit Jasraj, felicitation programme of Hindi poet Gopal Das Neeraj and the ongoing five-day drama festival at Shaheed Bhawan.
