Traffic diverted for Muharram in Bhopal

Traffic will be diverted in Bhopal on Tuesday due to procession which will be taken out on the occasion of Muharram. The traffic police have urged the citizens to avoid the roads in the walled city.

Traffic will be diverted in the city on Tuesday due to procession which will be taken out on the occasion of Muharram. The traffic police have urged the citizens to avoid the roads in the walled city, especially when the tazia processions would be taken out.

The procession will start at 8am from from Irani Dera and will pass through Alpana Tiraha, Sabzi Mandi, Hamidia Road, Bus Stand, Bhopal Talkies, Saifia College and Chowki Imambada to reach Pir Gate.

The tazias from DIG Bungalow locality and Shahjehanabad will pass through Bhopal Talkies and Saifia College road to reach Pir Gate where processions will merge and will together move towards Imami Gate, Royal Market, GAD crossing, Old RTO office, to reach local Karbala.

The routes for citizens to reach railway station, bus stand and other important markets have been diverted. From GAD crossing, commuters can pass through Pari Bazar, Sharma Colony, Bazaria, Sindhi Colony, Kabadkhana Road, Chhola Road and Parallel Road, to reach railway station.

Also, from Lal Ghati, the commuters can pass through military area, DIG bungalow area, Union Carbide road, Ganesh Mandir, Chhola Road and parallel road to reach railway station and Alpana Tiraha, from where they can go to other parts of the City. From new Bhopal, residents can reach railway station through Roshanpura, and then go to other areas.
