Of 4,299 samples tested in the state since January 1 this year, 1,909 have tested positive for swine flu.
This was revealed in the state-level review meeting for swine flu control, organised at the state secretariat on Monday. Chief secretary Anthony deSa presided over the meeting.
According to the information, 1,542 swine flu patients have recovered fully, while 53 patients were still receiving treatment in government hospitals.
The chief secretary directed the officials concerned in the public health and family welfare department to continue the campaign to make people aware about seasonal diseases.
Meanwhile, two persons, including a woman, reportedly died at private hospitals in Bhopal on Monday, taking the death toll due to swine flu in the district to 70 since January 1.
During the day, swab samples of 36 suspected patients were sent for tests, while four people tested positive for H1N1.
