Two rape cases registered in Bhopal

A minor girl was allegedly raped by an engineering student of a private college under Kotwali police limits. Police did not disclose the identity of the accused, suspecting he is a minor.

According to information, the girl’s mother approached Kotwali police and lodged a complaint that a youth held her daughter captive for 10 days and raped her.

In her complaint, the victim’s mother claimed that the girl went missing from home on November 13. The location of the girl was traced at Amar Basti. The girl’s family members reached there and rescued her.

Police said the statement of the girl had been recorded. Following the statement, police registered a case of kidnapping and rape against the accused, who is a first-year student at a private college.

Meanwhile, another case of rape was registered at woman police station on Monday.

The victim, who is perusing pathology course from a private institute in Bhopal, told police that she was raped by a youth Shahid Ali, 22, on pretext of marriage for around two years. When victim asked him to marriage, he denied the same.

The police said that a case against the accused has been registered and investigation was on.
