A leopard attacked some villagers at an agriculture field near Parsauriya village under Sanoudha police station limit in Sagar district on Saturday. Forest officials said two villagers were injured in the incident.

District forest officer (South) SP Tiwari said the injured villagers were identified as Vinod Kurmi, 16 and Dharmendra Kurmi, 20. They have been admitted to a district hospital. He said a team from Panna Tiger Reserve was trying to trace the leopard.

Tiwari said a female leopard was found moving on the outskirts of Parsouriya village near Damoh-Jabalpur highway. After the incident, villagers informed the forest officials.

"We are trying to trace the leopard. Our priority is to keep a watch on the leopard's moves towards Raman forest area during night," said Tiwari.
