Some unidentified people threw stones at the house of Congress leader Govind Goyal at Shyamla Hills, about 200 metres from chief minister's residence, late Sunday night, the police said on Monday.
The window glass of Goyal's room was broken but nobody was injured in the incident that occurred under Shyamla Hills police station limit.
Talking to HT, Goyal said the incident occurred when he was sleeping in his room with his grandchildren.
"On hearing the sounds, I woke up and noticed that the window glass of my room was broken. It seemed that someone was trying to enter my house through the window," he said.
Goyal informed Shyamla Hills police station and lodged a complaint demanding swift action.
"If people are not safe near the chief minister's house, how can one expect safety in other parts of the state?" Goyal said.
Town inspector of Shyamla Hills police station, GP Agrawal said, "We have received a complaint from Govind Goyal and started an investigation into the incident."
However, no case was registered till the filing of this report.
Goyal had contested assembly election in 2013 against home minister Babulal Gaur from Govindpura constituency.
