Yoga events observed across Madhya Pradesh

Yoga events were organised on Tuesday across Madhya Pradesh at the district, block, panchayat and municipality levels on the occasion of International Yoga Day.

Yoga events were organised on Tuesday across Madhya Pradesh at the district, block, panchayat and municipality levels on the occasion of International Yoga Day.

Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) was abuzz since early morning with faculty members and students performing various yoga asanas.

Over a hundred yoga fans including students, professors, deans, teaching and non-teaching staff and their family members gathered at 7:00am at Yoga Bhawan of Sports Complex to mark the day. Yoga teacher Pawan Guru guided the participants.

“We performed all the asanas (yoga postures) listed in the protocol by the government including Bhujangasan, Titliasan, Pranayam, Sarvangasan et al. The session lasted for an hour and everyone had a great time,” said professor Ajay Verma.

Faculty members of Nutan College also engaged in yoga asanas at the college premises on Tuesday morning. Around 64 students of the college participated in the event held at Lal Parade Ground.

The students of Shri Bhavan’s Bharti Public School also performed different asanas such as Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Pada-hastasana, Ardha Vakrasana and Trikonasanato to mark this day. Students also presented a talk on the benefits of yoga.

Students of Campion school organised a one-hour session at the school prayer ground where they performed yoga postures under the guidance of sports and yoga teachers.

Manav Sangrahalaya, Sahaj Yoga Meditation center and MP government Yoga Training Center also organised a special programme.

The state’s ministers were also prominent in taking part in yoga events held at district levels.
