A youth was arrested allegedly for molesting a minor boy at Manuwabhan Ki Tekari on Thursday. The 10-year-old victim had fled from his home on Wednesday morning.
A priest of a temple at the Tekari, who spotted the youth while molesting the minor, informed the police control room. Later, a team from Koh-e-Fiza police station reached the spot and nabbed the accused. According to police, the boy, who fled from his home in Lohangipura village in Vidisha district on Wednesday, reached Bhopal at night. He spent the night at the railway station.
On Thursday morning, he met the accused Lakhan Lal, a resident of village Khakuri Bungalow, Sehore district, who works as a sweeper. Lal lured the boy to Manuwabhan Ki Tekari and started molesting him, police added.
Police said a case under Sections 363,294 and 341 of IPC and Protection of Child from Sexual Offence (POCSO) has been registered and the accused is being quizzed.
City Superintendent of police (CSP) Sunil Patidar said, "We have contacted the boy's parents and they are coming to Bhopal. They told us that the boy had fled from home earlier also. The statements of his parents will be recorded."
