Weddings are times of celebration, but the fun seems to double up in India when a Bollywood star ties the knot. From what they wear to what’s on the menu, everything is followed-up by fans. Here’s the 10 most talked-about celebrity weddings that took place in the past decade:

Shahid Kapoor-Mira Rajput
This is the most recent example of how the spotlight is always on a Bollywood celebrity’s marriage. Shahid and Mira tied the knot on July 7 in Gurgaon. While it was meant to be a hush-hush affair, the event caught so much attention that it was soon trending on Twitter. From the rituals that were held at a private farmhouse, followed by a grand reception to Shahid’s first selfie as a married man, all eyes were glued on the newlyweds.

Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai
The two actors got married on April 20, 2007. While it was a happy occasion for the Bachchans, they ensured that the wedding remained as private as possible. From conducting the ceremony in an air-conditioned mandap inside their residence, Jalsa, to keeping the guest list small, Abhishek and Aishwarya went against all odds (including their ‘kundalis’ not matching) to make this alliance possible.

Imran Khan- Avantika Malik

After having dated for several years, Imran and Avantika tied the knot in a private ceremony at Aamir Khan’s home in the city on January 10, 2011. Their sangeet as well as the wedding reception was attended by many B-Town celebrities.

Riteish Deshmukh-Genelia D’souza
Riteish and Genelia dated for a few years before tying the knot in a traditional, yet, grand Maharashtrian ceremony in Mumbai on February 3, 2012. Their wedding also saw performances by lavani dancers. This was followed by a church wedding.

Sanjay Dutt-Manyata
While initially, not many from Sanjay’s family were in favour of this alliance, the actor finally decided to take the plunge. His family and close friends supported the them. They tied the knot in a private ceremony in Goa on February 11, 2008.

Raj Kundra-Shilpa Shetty

Raj and Shilpa had a lavish wedding on November 22, 2009, which was held at a hill station on the outskirts of the city. The wedding saw a mix of Punjabi and Mangalorean traditions.

Siddharth Roy Kapur-Vidya Balan
After denying their relationship for years, Siddharth and Vidya tied the knot at a private ceremony in the city on December 14, 2012. The couple organised a small sangeet ceremony, followed by a private traditional Tamil wedding.

Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor
Saif and Kareena started dating in 2007, and tied the knot on October 16, 2012. Their fans eagerly waited for the couple to take the plunge, and when they finally did, it was a five-day affair with a pre-wedding party in Mumbai, followed by a registered wedding at their home and two grand receptions.

Aditya Chopra- Rani Mukerji
After years of speculation, Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukerji got married privately in Rome, Italy, on April 21, 2014. Only their family and a handful of close friends were part of the ceremony.

Aamir Khan-Kiran Rao
Aamir and Kiran had a very private and guarded wedding on December 28, 2005.
