Here’s all that was talked about in Bollywood in the year gone by, both on screen and off screen.

Kisses
Actor Deepika Padukone locked lips with her co-star Imran Khan in Danish Aslam’s debut film, Break Ke Baad which released in October this year. Apparently, Deepika was comfortable with the idea of lip lock but it was difficult for Imran Khan.

Actor Vidya Balan who has always maintained the girl next door image in most films shocked many with her bold avatar Ishqiyain Ishqiya which released in January this year. Her passionate lip lock with co-star Arshad Warsi raised many eyebrows.

Actors Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor shared two lip locks in Siddharth Anand’s Anjaana Anjaani which apparently got Priyanka’s ‘good friend’ Shahid Kapoor upset. The kissing scenes were shot in the presence of camera man and the director only.

Controversy
Malaika Arora Khan grooved to hit number Munni Badnaam in husband Arbaaz Khan’s Dabangg but Emami did not take too well to the line Main jhandu balm hui, darling tere liye. They served a legal notice to producer Arbaaz Khan and things settled only after Malaika Arora agreed to become the brand ambassador of the company.

Shah Rukh Khan, the lead actor of My Name Is Khan and owner of Kolkata Knight Riders said that it was unfortunate that Pakistani cricketers were not taken in any IPL team. Political party Shiv Sena expressed its displeasure and said that they wouldn’t allow the film to release in Maharashtra. SRK refused to apologise. Inspite of threats, the film opened well.

Ekta Kapoor’s Once Upon a Time In Mumbai was believed to be loosely based on the lives of Haji Mastan and Dawood Ibrahim, played by Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi respectively. Haji Mastan’s daughter Shamshad Supariwala and adopted son Suleiman Mirza filed an affidavit against the makers in the Bombay high Court, for the subject of the film. The court asked the makers to put a disclaimer that the film does not resemble Mastan’s life.

Debuts
Punit Malhotra’s first directorial film, I Hate Luv Storys (IHLS) which released this July was one of the major hits of the year. Before directing IHLS, Malhotra was assistant director of movies like Dostana and Paheli. Malhotra is currently busy scripting his next and in talks with many production houses.

Actor Sonakshi Sinha couldn’t have asked for a better debut than this year’s biggest hit Dabangg. The 23-year-old daughter of actor Shatrughan Sinha will be next seen in movies Race 2 with Saif and Joker with Akshay Kumar among others.

This 30-year-old Pakistani national made his acting debut with Abhishek Sharma’s Tere Bin Laden which released in July this year. He will be next seen in upcoming film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan which also stars Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif.

Babies
Actor Emraan Hashmi became father to a baby boy, Ayaan, on February 4 this year. The excited actor informed the world about the good news on micro-blogging site Twitter, writing, “My baby boy Ayaan made a grand entrance."
